Our Story Since 1994
Wild West Mercantile was founded in February 1994 in Phoenix, Arizona by Tom and Claudia Ingoglia — better known throughout the Cowboy Action Shooting community as C.S. Fly and Claudia Feather.
What began as a 1,200-square-foot Old West clothing store quickly found an audience among people looking for something that wasn’t always easy to find: clothing and accessories that captured the look and details of the historic American West.
As the community grew, so did Wild West Mercantile.
The original store expanded to 2,400 square feet in 1996, and in 2000 Wild West Mercantile moved into a 6,000-square-foot facility. At the same time, its catalog and online business allowed WWM to reach far beyond Arizona, shipping Western clothing and accessories throughout the United States and around the world.
Over the years, the name Wild West Mercantile became synonymous with Old West clothing and accessories — a reputation we’re proud to carry forward today.
More Than Clothing — A Part of the Community
Wild West Mercantile’s connection to the Old West has never been simply about selling the clothes.
Founders Claudia Feather and C.S. Fly were active members of the Cowboy Action Shooting community and helped shape the sport during its early years.
Claudia Feather was a champion Cowboy Action Shooter, including the 1994 End of Trail Ladies World Championship, and a co-founder of the Rio Salado Cowboy Action Shooting Society.
C.S. Fly was also a founder of the Rio Salado Cowboy Action Shooting Society, a past president and Shoot Boss of Winter Range, a SASS Territorial Governor, and recipient of the SASS Spirit Award.
Both were SASS Regulators, and in 2007, Claudia Feather and C.S. Fly were inducted into the SASS Hall of Fame.
Their firsthand involvement in Cowboy Action Shooting helped establish something that remains important to Wild West Mercantile today: the details matter.
When you’re dressing for a SASS match, historical event, reenactment, theatrical production — or simply because you love the Old West — clothing should do more than look Western. It should help you look the part.
From a Phoenix Store to an Online Western Outfitter
A lot has changed since those first customers walked through the doors of a 1,200-square-foot store in Phoenix.
Wild West Mercantile is now an online-only retailer, allowing us to serve Western enthusiasts wherever they may be.
While the physical storefront is part of our history, the ability to serve customers from across the country and around the world has been part of the Wild West Mercantile story for decades.
Today, we’re building on that history with a broader vision of Western style.

Wild West Mercantile remains committed to the Authentic Old West clothing that built our reputation — including period-inspired shirts, trousers, vests, coats, skirts and accessories for Cowboy Action Shooting, reenactment and anyone with an appreciation for historic Western style.
But that’s only one side of the West.
Today, Wild West Mercantile also brings you Today’s Western Wear — clothing that carries Western character into everyday life.
From contemporary Western shirts and jackets to leatherwear, dresses, accessories and distinctive pieces with unmistakable Western influence, we’re bringing the two sides of Western style together in one place.

Proudly Part of Scully Sportswear
The next chapter of Wild West Mercantile brings together two companies with remarkably deep roots in Western apparel.
Today, Wild West Mercantile is part of Scully Sportswear, a company whose own history dates back to 1906.
For more than a century, Scully has manufactured distinctive apparel and leather goods. Its history includes producing flight jackets and helmets during World Wars I and II and outfitting members of Admiral Byrd’s Antarctic expedition.
Over the generations, Scully expanded into Western, contemporary and Old West apparel, including its well-known WahMaker and RangeWear collections.
Bringing Wild West Mercantile and Scully together gives us an opportunity to honor what made WWM special while introducing our customers to an even broader world of Western style.
Still Wild West Mercantile
The store may look different today. The selection may be broader. And instead of walking through our doors in Phoenix, our customers now visit us online from wherever they call home.
But more than 30 years after Wild West Mercantile began, the idea behind it remains remarkably simple:
